Krauss: quantum fluctuations imply
nothing is unstable.
If we grant this we are using "nothing"
in the quantum mechanical sense of the word. But then there is still
the question of how to get quantum mechanics in the first place.
I think Smolin reduces the problem in
some ways by suggesting the laws of physics have evolved over time to
become as complicated as they are.
